Our open-source lyric scoring engine. Off Book listens to the reference vocal and the live singer as two separate streams, recognises the words in each, and scores the match, with no lyrics on screen.
Our karaoke scoring works from the audio waveform itself. Off Book compares what you sing with the original recording via real time speech-to-text.
Performers can get paid over Lightning. On Open, creators pay for hosting and singing stays free, with no ads aimed at the audience.
Waveform's Off Book scoring engine and vox2lrc repos are Apache-2.0 on GitHub, so you can check how it works in the code instead of taking our word for it.

Waveform Engineering, LLC is an independent product studio in New York, founded by Matt Schiffman.
Matt has spent 25 years building software for banks, fashion companies and blockchain startups, leading engineering teams and shipping products at scale. Before that he studied theatre at the University of Miami, earning a BFA in Theatre Design & Production.
Theatre taught him something software rarely does: every moment on stage has to mean something. Every line, every light cue, every beat has to serve the story. That standard runs through everything we make, and through the engineering underneath it.
